Time for a Change ! ? ! ?

Not happy with your painting. Need to change something. Repent, repent, pentimento, pentirsi. In art, evidence of change made by an artist is called, Fr. "pentimento" or "pentimenti" if there's more than one . In Italian it's called Pentirsi. In plain old English, it means to repent or change. It's a fun practice looking at masterworks in a museum and looking for the pentimenti. After many years the top layers of paint often seem to lighten or become a bit transparent. It's often easy to see what the artist had painted underneath. Next time you're in a museum, look for some repenting that went on.
I painted the painting of these beautiful iris on Saturday, the same day as the irises in my last post. They are striking and better in person than the photo shows.
